Expedition cruises are on a smaller ship with a reinforced hull to break through ice to explore more remote areas of the world such as Antarctica. The ships can range from basic accommodations to suites with butler service. Zodiacs are inflatable boats to take guests to shore to see icebergs, view animals such as penguins, visit with local cultures and to hike to wildlife sanctuaries. Onboard guests will hear lectures from naturalists and scientists.
